What do the error codes in my preview mean?

WHY ERROR CODES ARE DISPLAYED
Some of our templates get their information from other sources than the narrowcasting portal. For example, the Newsroom template retrieves information from news sites. We rely on these sites to show the correct preview. However, sometimes the sites do not provide the information we need to display a preview image. You will then receive an error code.

WHAT ERROR CODES ARE THERE?
There are three types of errors that you may see when previewing a template. For more information about template previews, click here. The three errors are:

  1. Preview not available. ERROR 430.
  2. Preview not available. ERROR 431.
  3. Preview not available. ERROR 432.

WHAT DO THE CODES MEAN?
Code 430 means that the browser does not allow crossdomain redirects and the browser cannot retrieve a preview from the source that you used in the template. This source does not allow the used browser to retrieve a preview.

Code 431 means that the source that you used in the template cannot load the preview. It may be too heavy or have other issues that cause this.

Code 432 means that there is no preview file or video available from the source that you used in the template. The source simply does not provide us with a file that we can use as a preview in our system.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES?
If the error is displayed, it does not mean that the source you used won’t work on the screen. When a preview isn’t displayed in the system, the template will still show properly on screen, unless the entry of the template is wrong. The media player can process the template correctly. The only issue is that you cannot view a preview in the narrowcasting portal and will need to schedule it on screen first to see how it will look.

HOW CAN I SOLVE IT?
The information for the preview is retrieved from the source you used. Unfortunately, we cannot change the input in a way so that a preview will appear. You won’t be able to preview these items in the media library, unless the source that is used in the template is changed. If you filled in a RSS feed or website, the owner of this RSS feed or website would have to make changes so the preview is displayed. The site that you want to show should lend us acces to do a cross domain request to the site from our site. It should also be available for loading in iframe element.
