Checklist installation media player

If you have walked throug the installation manual for the media player you can use this checklist to make sure everything is installed well and you forgot nothing. The extended explanation of all steps can be found in the manual. Always consult the manual first before this document! The manual can be found here.

  • Is the media player connected to the screen? The HDMI cable should connect the media player (next to the 12 volt input) to the screen.
  • Is the media player connected to the internet? The supplied network cable should connect the media player (input next to USB ports) to a router. In case of misconnection due to the network cable, the green and orange bulbs above the LAN ports do not light up. Contact your own IT manager about possible changes that have been made to the standard network settings in the media player. Your IT-manager can inform you about possible extra steps you need to take.
  • Is the media player connected to the power network? The supplied power cable should connect the media player (12 volt input) to the power network.
  • Is the media player succesfully connected to the narrowcasting? Your media player should have the status online (green) in your narrowcasting account.
  • Is the correct source channel selected? Press the “source” button on the remote control and select HDMI input.
  • Do you see ‘no playlist’ on your screen? Then there is no playlist scheduled on your media player. Please schedule a playlist in your narrowcasting account.
  • Check if the media player is visible in your narrowcasting account. You can check this by logging in to your account and click on ‘players’. If your media player does not show up, please download the configuration file via the following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByW3dm7qli6EejFMX1Y5bDRFeFU/view?usp=sharing. Copy this file to an empty, FAT 32 formatted USB-stick. Insert the USB-stick into one of the USB ports of the media player. Wait until the data is copied (this happens automatically) and eject the USB-stick. The media player is online now. Your media player will have a PLAYER ID code mentioned at the bottom. Give this code to your partner to connect the media player to your account. When the media player is connected to you account it will show up in the ‘players’ section.
  • Is the content shown in the wrong resolution? Set the image resolution. Connect a keyboard and mouse to the media player via the USB ports. Reset the media player by pulling out the power cable for 10 seconds and putting it back in. The automatic menu will now pop up. Press ‘cancel auto play’ (right lower corner of the screen), this has to happen within 15 seconds otherwise the playlist will start playing again! Press ‘advanced’ → ‘display/sound display resolution’ and select the desired resolution. The device will ask if you wish to save the changes, select ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Press the arrow at the bottom of your screen to the left.
  • Check if the firewall gives free acces to the media player. The standard configuration of the media player is on DHCP, but it is possible that your firewall blocks the acces. Your IT manager can look into this for you. If the firewall settings cannot be changed by the IT manager, a fixed IP configuration can be set (no need for a firewall anymore). Connect a keyboard and mouse to the media player via the USB ports. Reset the media player bij pulling out the power cable for 10 seconds and putting it back in. The automatic menu will now pop up. Press ‘cancel auto play’ (right lower corner of the screen), this has to happen within 15 seconds otherwise the playlist will start playing again! Press ‘advanced’→ ‘network ethernet static IP settings’ and check the box ‘Use static IP’. Fill in the IP Settings (your IT-manager might help you with that). Press save. Press the arrow at the bottom of your screen to the left.
  • In case of WiFi player; is the WiFi antenna connected to the media player? The supplied WiFi antenna can be screwed to the media player on the long side of the media player on the back.
  • In case of WiFi player; is the WiFi network connected to the media player? Connect a keyboard and mouse to the media player via the USB ports. Reset the media player bij pulling out the power cable for 10 seconds and putting it back in. The automatic menu will now pop up. Press ‘cancel auto play’ (right lower corner of the screen), this has to happen within 15 seconds otherwise the playlist will start playing again! Press ‘advanced’ →’network’ → ‘wireless LAN’. A WiFi network should be connected here. If not, click on ‘On’ next to ‘WiFi’ and select a WiFi network to connect with.
