How can I work with the Facebook events template?

WHAT IS THE FACEBOOK EVENTS TEMPLATE?

This is a template that can be found in the category ‘social media’ on the new clip page. It shows the events that are created by the Facebook page that is connected to the template.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You connect your Facebook account in the template in the step ‘Facebook page’ in the Creation Station. To learn more about the Creation Station, click here. To retrieve the correct information for this field, you go to the Facebook page where you want to show the events from, and select the part of the url in the browser that is between the last slash after ‘facebook.com’ and a question mark or another slash. So if the url is https://www.facebook.com/Paardenpas/?fref=ts, you fill in ‘Paardenpas’ in this field.

In the next step ‘logo’ you can upload a logo. This will be visible in the right top corner of your screen when this template is displayed.

After this you get to the step ‘background color’. Here you can select a color that will be displayed on the background of the events.

In the step ‘days range’ you can fill in the range of days of which events will be displayed. So if you fill in 30, it will show the upcoming events of the coming 30 days.

After this you can fill in the number of seconds that the widget should show on screen in the step ‘duration’. If you have one page with events, it will show for this period of time and if there is more than one page of events, the widget automatically computes the time that every page can show with the filled in time (so if you fill in 30 seconds and there are 3 pages, each page will show for 10 seconds).

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Facebook account that you use needs to be a group page. It cannot be a personal page.
  • Per page a maximum of 5 events is show. If there are more events, multiple pages are shown.
  • When there are less than 5 events, the layout of the page adapts to the number of events (if there is one event it is shown over the whole page etc.).
  • It shows the events that are created by a Facebook group and not events that the account is attending.
